• Oversee inventory management, periodic physical counts, and reconciliations; accrue and remit sales taxes; process AP/subcontractor payments and AR collections/follow-up.
• Prepare and post monthly invoices in collaboration with project managers; accumulate job cost data for weekly cost reports.
• Handle year-end close-outs with external CPA, W2/1099 processing, and distribution to agencies/employees.
• Supervise accounting department staff; establish controls for efficiency and integrity; advise on budgets, objectives, audits, insurance coverage, and tax code changes.
• Interface with construction managers, project managers, and superintendents for accurate job costing/coding; maintain personnel files, insurance/401K records, and assist with HR-related financial questions.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including updating procedures and special projects.
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent experience preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
• Expertise in construction-integrated accounting software (job cost/GL systems, Sage100), payroll/tax compliance, cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes, sales/use taxes, 401K administration, and regulatory filings.
• Proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools; experience with audits, inventory reconciliation, and AR/AP oversight.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and mentor team members.
• A proactive leader who values integrity, accuracy, and contributing to process improvements in a team-oriented environment.
