Outside Sales Representative – Full Time – Salary $ 63,000 – $ 83,000 DOE plus commission

As a key player in the geotextile and environmental linings industry, we supply materials that make construction and environmental projects safer and more sustainable.  We are a family-owned business operating in Kent, WA for over 53 years and are looking for energetic, self-motivated Outside Sales reps to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within an assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and delivering custom solutions.  The ideal candidate is a proactive “hunter” who thrives on in-person interaction as well as phone prowess, possesses strong negotiation skills, and is dedicated to exceeding sales targets. 

What you will do (And Why it Matters):

  • Prospecting & Business Development: Actively identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities through warm calling, networking, and industry events, to build a robust pipeline.
  • Field Sales Visits: Travel within the designated territory to conduct face-to-face meetings, product lunch and learns, jobsite visits, to build trust with new and existing clients.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain and nurture long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure continued high satisfaction, repeat and referral business.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales process from initial client contact to negotiation, closing, and post-sale support.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor competitor pricing activities, industry trends, and market conditions to identify new market opportunities effectively positioning NWL’s products/services.
  • CRM and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and action item data using PSA software.
  • Be willing to travel to and participate in trade shows and symposiums and network with customers and prospective clients in the assigned territory.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven track record of 2-5 years in B2B outside sales (industry-specific experience preferred)
  • Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, or business administration, or related field is preferred, but not always required if equivalent experience exists.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-Management: Highly Self-Motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with little supervision (self-governing), but high level of personal accountability.
  • Technology Efficiency: Familiarity with CRM software and basic computer skills (Office, Teams, Outlook).
  • Logistics: Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory.
