Floating Covers are geomembranes that cover a body of water or liquid to prevent outside contamination or evaporation to the environment. Typical floating cover applications include potable water reservoirs, landfill treatment ponds and methane collection covers. They can also be used for odor control in agricultural or commercial settings. Common floating cover geomembranes are Reinforced Polypropylene, XR-5 and HDPE. Floatation pockets are attached under or over the liner to support the geomembrane and weights are generally used to direct rainwater to collection sumps for removal.
